Fun fact: ten years ago, I didn't believe in budgeting.
I already knew where my money was going, or at least I thought I did. Most of it went to bills, so creating a budget felt unnecessary.
But budgeting seemed to be the one piece of financial advice everyone agreed on, so I decided to give it a try.
The tracker I created helped me see my money more clearly. Month after month, I tracked my expenses and started noticing spending patterns I had never paid attention to before. What began as a simple spreadsheet became an easy way to understand where my money was actually going.
Over time, I realized that budgeting wasn't about restricting myself.
It was about awareness.
The more clearly I could see my spending habits, the easier it became to make decisions that aligned with my goals. That's why I continued improving the tracker over the years, and eventually it became The Friendly Budget.
